Korea has participated in international development cooperation with focus on knowledge sharing in the 1960s and has officially started ODA in the form of grants and concessional loans from late 1980s. The scale of development assistance continued to expand with joining the OECD Development Assistance Committee in 2010. To improve the qualitative system along with the quantitative expansion of development cooperation projects, this research paper aims to present the philosophy, vision, and strategy of Korea’s development cooperation projects as well as improvement plans for implementation system.
Consistent vision reflecting self-identity is required to establish the vision for international development cooperation.
Korea as a democratic and industrial country with its political and economic development achievements of overcoming adversity caused by invasion and war of imperialism, is recognized as ’face of hope’ to developing countries.
