Abstract

To a greater extent, the rate of economic growth and the levels of income in a given economy is determined by how the state (public trustee), allocates the available resources. Some states exhibit characteristics of the predatory state (retards development) while others exhibit that of the developmental state (accelerates development). Using secondary data on Korea and Kenya, this paper analyzes how different government regimes from the two countries retarded or facilitated economic growth and development through either an efficient or inefficient resource allocation.(The rest is omitted)
