TVET & HRD Workshop for Nigerian Experts 2010
Korea has achieved remarkably rapid economic growth over the past 50 years, which is regarded as an unprecedented and momentous success story in global economic history. Well-educated, high quality human resources were a key factor that transformed one of the world’s poorest nations into a major economy. Technical vocational education and training (TVET) has played a significant role in supplying skilled technical manpower to support economic development.
In particular, the Korean government implemented vocational education and training policies effectively in coordination with the national economic development plans. As a result, Korea transformed from being an agrarian economy into one of the leading economies in the world, relying heavily on export-driven, high-tech industries.
And in 2010, Korea gained entry into OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC), making it the first country to become donor after being a recipient for a number of years. Hence, Korea is in a good position to share its experience and know-how especially with developing countries and support their endeavors to foster economic development.
As part of KRIVET's international cooperation activities, KRIVET is organizing a two-week workshop, TVET & HRD Workshop for Nigerian Experts 2010.
