|Venue||St. Petersburg, Russia||Date||2012-10-08 ~ 2012-10-11|
The APEC Climate Symposium 2012 will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia from October 8-11, 2012. The APEC Climate Symposium (APCS) is an annual event, held since 2005, that brings together around 100 scientists, representatives of National Hydrological and Meteorological Services, academics, policy-makers and students from around the world to discuss emerging issues in climate prediction and its applications.
The conference will explore the application of seasonal climate forecasts to the agriculture sector across four major categories:
· Information transfer and communication channels between climate information producers and end-users
· Improving content and form of climate forecasts to help farmers and end-users maximize benefits
· Strengthening institutional linkages between the meteorological and agricultural communities at the national, regional, and international levels
· Development of high-quality models to translate climate forecasts into relevant forms such as production impacts and agricultural management implications
