Korea Institute for National Unification International Conference
「The Future of Korean Unification: Expectations and Roles of the U.S., China, Russia and Japan」
For decades, the unification of South and North Korea has been one of the most crucial issues closely related to the future of Northeast Asia. With respect to the existing studies on the domestic influence of Korean unification, we have come a long way in understanding its foreseeable consequences and its necessity. Now the intensifying regional dynamics has led us to taking further steps to the broader prospects on its far-reaching repercussions, especially in international dimensions.
In this respect, the Korea Institute for National Unification (KINU) is holding an international conference on the topic of the “Future of Korean Unification - Expectations and Roles of the U.S., China, Russia, and Japan.” During this conference, the opinions of experts from these four major states will be unfolded, shared, and discussed. Particularly, we hope that the conference will yield fruitful discussions on related issues, and trigger the cooperation of scholars, policy leaders, and civil society organizations.
Hereafter, our insights into the process and impact of Korean unification could be deepened. This can also be the starting point for constructive policies, and pave the path to achieve peaceful unification. We cordially invite you to this conference to share your insights and advice on these issues.
