and some others. In addition, connection between logistics industry and related infrastructure in the nation is not strong enough. Logistics industry, w h i c h covers diverse areas ranging from manufacturing industry to transportation-related sector, is a composite industry. Logistics infrasturcture, personnel, system, and related supporting industries should be fully equipped and well developed while keeping balance among these elements so that high quality logistics services can be effectively provided. Unfortunately, however, long-term and systematic system has not been established in Korea. This paper has been drawn up based on a questionnaire survey on theinfrastructure for the nation’s overall manufacturing sector and six major m a n u f a c t u r i n g industries in order to grasp the current situation of infrastructure of the nation’s manufacturing industry in 2005. For this, the study h a s thoroughly understood the current situation of logistics and informationization, which are essential elements of the nation’s industrial infrastructure. Specifically, the study has unified/reclassified manufacturing industries into six industries - electronics (home appliance, semiconductor, electronics parts, computer, communication device), chemical(petrochemical,
fine chemical), textile (textile, apparel), general machinery, transportation machinery (automobile, shipbuilding) and analyzed them. In the process, following issues have been handled : general logistics, structure
