Goals
The Korean Women’s Development Institute strives to be the global leader in gender policy r e s e a r c h and to realize gender equality in Korea. History
The Korean Women’s Development Institute was founded in 1983 with the goal to develop women’s capability and contribute to women’s development and welfare advancement. At the time, the institute was under the Ministry of Health and Welfare and later transferred to the Ministry of Political Affairs (2nd Division) in 1 9 9 1 , and again to the Presidential Commission on Women’s Affairs in 1998.
