Korea-EU FTA : Key outcomes and the future prospects

Frame of Image  additional negotiation between Korea and the U.S., which took place from November 30 to December 3, has finally brought the KoreaU.S. FTA to a conclusion. As a result, there have been voices expressed calling for a need to discuss the possible impact of above-mentioned issues on the entry into force of the Korea-EU FTA. Discussed below are the main contents of the Korea-EU FTA focused on the key issues, processes for ratification of the FTA and other issues to consider.

Both parties also agreed that they shall harmonize safety regulations with corresponding UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) Regulations or GTR (Global Technical Regulation) within a period of five years of the entry into force of the FTA.
