 No concrete description on duty responsibility (no job description)  Entrusted all personnel decisions to personnel section(Job, Duty station, Working time and so on)  Workers can expect “employment guarantee” (lifetime employment) as “tacit clause (unspoken agreement) ”
Logical conclusion of “Membership” Employment System
Due to this “Membership” Employment System
 Famous characteristics of Japanese employment system called “Three Sacred Treasures” (life-time employment, seniority wage system and in-house union) are logical conclusion from this system (labour contract)  Employers have to be responsible for vocational training for hired workers (because employers can unilaterally decide their job rotation)  “Tacit clause (unspoken agreement) ” of employment guarantee requires workers to obey decisions on changing job, work place (duty station) and working time.
Typical Japanese family earning model in Rapid Growth Era (around 1955~1992)
Father : work in a middle or large company as employee (enjoying “Membership” Employment System till retirement age)
“regular employment” = Membership Employment System
