Abstract

In a recent, the Korean government has actively focused on international activities, such as Official Development Assistance(ODA), because our nation has been requested to play a role as an international leader in a global era. At the present, our government has emphasized the importance of nation brand or national images. Even though the government has focused on the meaning of nation brand and images, we have some problems to implement the policies because multiple ministries and agencies have been interested in this subject. Due to the complexity and multiplication in this area, the government has not properly dealt with this issue and then failed to accomplish the goals as yet. In the past government, the Presidential Council on Nation Branding made plans and coordinated policies that implemented from the ministries, but there had been some critiques on the Council’s roles and activities because it had no power to make and implement the policies. In particular, the opponent suggested that the council did not systematically coordinate the policies, as well as strategically approach the issues. (The rest omitted)
