Abstract

Over the past two years, we have witnessed drastic reforms in Korea`s regulatory system in Korea, mainly focusing on deregulation. It is the financial crisis that provided the important momentum for such regulatory reform. Regulatory reform, commencing as a part of national reforms believed to revitalize the Korean economy from the crisis, has been evaluated as being successful to date with strong requests for further and faster progress. It can be said that regulatory reform has emerged and been rooted as an essential part of national policies. It is also in recent months that the press, in particular the daily newspapers, have taken up regulatory reform so often.
