Abstract

The Information Technology (IT) industry has contributed to the continuous growth of the “New Economy” in the United States since the 1990s. The development of the IT industry is thus assumed to be the cornerstone of low unemployment, low inflation, and high economic growth. Because of the relationship between IT and economic growth, many countries in Asia and Europe are now trying to promote their own IT industries, not least of which are developing countries.
