For the international comparison of the income distribution is as follows.
It has been known that the level of income distribution (income inequality and poverty rate) in Korea compared to other countries is somewhat satisfactory. However, the income inequality and poverty rate immediately before and after the financial crisis of 1997 took a sharp ascent landing Korea in the unsatisfactory group amongst OECD countries. For international comparative purposes, controls such as income and number of household were standardized to the international level, then the degree of income inequality and poverty rate are estimated and the results are as follows.
First, the extent of income inequality in Korea was measured using the disposable income, which includes public transfers i.e. pension, minimum-living standard benefits, etc. but minus the tax as the standard. (The rest omitted)
