A study on divorce law reform
I. Introduction
The major limitation of South Korean divorce law stems from the fact that the bulk of its components were simply transferred from existing Japanese law without considering the South Korean contextor referring to practices in other countries. While in various revisions regulations on uncontested divorce have indeed adopted perspectives of gender equality and child welfare to a certain degree, regulations on grounds for divorce in a contested divorce have made little headway over the decades.
