Purpose: The objective of this research was to provide basic data regarding EBS-related research activities by applying a research trend analysis.
Design: 159 research articles (42 professional articles and 117 masters and doctoral dissertations) were selected from the RISS database from the period between 1990 and 2015. The analysis included research objectives, methods, target audiences, related institutions, and the majors’ of the researchers.
Results: The findings of this study were varied. First, during the last 14 years, the number of studies broadcast on EBS has increased steadily. In the early 2000s to 2010, the number increased rapidly. Second, in terms of research objectives, most research focused on the instructional application, policy diffusion, program analysis, and understanding the situation of EBS. Third, in terms of methodology, there are significant differences between professional articles and masters and doctoral dissertations. (The rest omitted)
