Abstract

The purposes of this study were to review educational policies formulated from 1945 to 1960 and to analyze the educational ideas underlying those educational policies. This analysis would be helpful set up the foundation of educational policies in the furture. From the historical perspectives, the ideological background of educational policies of Korean consists of democracy and nationalism. Democratic consciousness was generated from humanism in the early Yi-dynasty. National consciousness was generated from the independence spirits which Korean have pursued to identify her national characteristics out of Chinese cultural influence. (The rest omitted)
