Demand is high for a shift in Korean governm e n t ’s policy from focusing on the stable supply of energy at low prices to the reduction of fossil fuel consumption and increase in the use of low-carbon energy. However, this requires a paradigmatic transition into a more sustainable, environmentally-friendly energy policy. One of the fundamental policy measures for sustainable energy use is setting a reasonable and solid energy price structure that meets both energy demands and encourages efficiency. Such strategic pricing should be able to promote energy-saving consumer behaviors through market mechanism
