Abstract

Green growth and sustainable development are now gaining their status as one of the most significant global agendas. As Korea seeks to take global leadership in green growth and contribute to those global agendas as a bridge between developed and developing countries, this joint project for promoting green growth in the Mekong region has been launched among the research institutions in Korea, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. As the early phase of the cooperation network, this joint report seeks to provide an overview of the countries and identify the major issues in sustainable development and green growth. The socio-economic conditions and development strategies, and the environmental conditions and management policies, and the sustainable agriculture and rural development are reviewed for each country of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
