Abstract

2014 marked the third year of the KSP with Sri Lanka as a Strategic Development Partner Country. Given that the KSP program with Sri Lanka started in 2011, 2014 was the fourth consecutive year that this KSP program was conducted. The grand theme of the 2014/15 KSP with Sri Lanka is titled ‘Upgrading Technology to Improve Export Competitiveness in Sri Lanka’, and has three sub-research areas as follows: 1) Framework of Joint Venture Partnership with Global Companies and Local Partners, 2) Development of the Automobile Components Manufacturing Industry of Sri Lanka Through the Creation of Forward Linkages with Global Value Chains, 3) Technology Business Incubators in Support of Technology-Based Industries in Sri Lanka: Preparatory Study for Establishment and Operation of the TBI (Technology Business Incubator) in the Science Park.
