Abstract

Vietnam’s Socio-Economic Development Strategy (SEDS) will be implemented from 2011 to 2020, and this blueprint’s formulation and implementation have been partly supported by the KSP since 2009. The Vietnamese economy is apparently advancing on the path envisioned by SEDS, growing at an annual average rate of almost 6 percent over the last four years. Vietnamese manufacturing is also getting increasingly sophisticated with the continuing role of foreign direct investment (FDI). As was the case in previous years, many KSP proposals were received from Vietnamese ministries and institutions. Among them, the following four topics were selected for their significance in Vietnam’s socioeconomic development as well as the relevance or applicability of the Korean experience to them.
