Established in 1993 by the Korean government, KEI has been at the heart of developing environment agendas through policy research and recommendations. As a publicly funded and fully autonomous research organization, KEI is committed to providing proactive environmental policy research that can contribute to preventing and solving environmental problems. Currently I am in charge of general international cooperation projects by managing and overseeing the projects operation. I took a part in diverse capacity building projects with government of Mongol, Paraguay, Indonesia and Vietnam. I am also promoting cooperation program with UNDP-UNEP Poverty Environment Initiative for this year with a vision to forge partnership on sustainable development with partner countries. KEI has been actively engaged in building international networks in the area of environmental assessment, sharing advanced Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA) methods with developing countries through various programs since 2008. First, through capacity building programs, KEI provides country-specific advice on environmental impact assessment to developing countries and shares Korea’s expertise in the field with their experts and public officials
