Frame of Image s and laws. In this video interview, Kihyun introduced KSF's intiatives and vision in  sharing knowledge and experiences of Korea's reforestation to help tackle desertification and land degradation of developing countries.
1. Can you introduce your institution and describe your career so far? The forest land area in the Republic of Korea takes up 63% of its territory. As the administrative agency, the Korea Forest Service is managing the forest so that the benefit of the forest would sustainably create a virtuous circle in the economic, environmental and social sectors with the vision of realizing a happy and green welfare state. Furthermore, to make a greener world and conserve environment, the KFS is showing a green leadership in addressing universal issues such as combating desertification and land degradation, preventing forest fires and disasters and responding to climate change through bilateral cooperation with 30 countries and close collaboration with international organizations including UNCCD, FAO, CBD, UNFCCC and ITTO, as well as NGOs. I started working at the KFS since 1993. I had the opportunity to do different tasks, for example, consulting forest policies and legal affairs, innovating administrative system, controlling pine wilt diseases and managing the protected areas in the Baekdudaegan. Recently, I also supported forest restoration in ASEAN countries under the Agreement between the Governments of the Republic of Korea and the Member States of the Associatio
