In the mid 1980s, the Republic of Korea and the Republic of China faced common economic policy challenges. The six years of the Joint Conference on the Industrial Policies of the Republic of Korea and the Republic of China has proved to be fruitful efforts to share the experience on economic policies. This volume contains papers an discussions from the meeting held April 12-13, 1990 at Kyonju, Korea.
The 1990 conference focused on three policy areas: The integration of the EC, the Economic Restructuring in Response to Pressure form Foreign Protectionism, and Environmental Problems in connection with Industrial Development. Both Korea and Taiwan are moving forward for internationalization of their economy and face the adjustment problems in various aspects.
