Abstract

「International Development Cooperation Analysis Quarterly」, 2011 iv (volume 1)

Recognizing the growing demands for a source of information that comprehensively analyzes trends in the field of development cooperation, the Center for International Development at the Korea Development Institute (CID@KDI) publishes the「International Development Cooperation Analysis Quarterly」.

The first edition of the「International Development Cooperation Analysis Quarterly」2011 iv (volume 1) is to be released in March 2012. The first edition includes outlines of general domestic and international development cooperation trends, an overview of knowledge sharing practices in three OECD-DAC member states, a listing of ODA events, and three issue reports related to the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness held in Busan in November 2011.

In the first section, “IDC Trends in Korea”, trends in Korea’s ODA are outlined followed by policy developments and an overview of main development programs in Korea. It is possible to view the total trend of Korea’s ODA, its ODA/GNI, and changes in the amount of bilateral and multilateral ODA as the following table shows.

A sectoral and regional division of Korea’s ODA is also provided, suggesting that Asia and Africa are expected to be the top destinations for Korea’s ODA in 2012, and that almost 70% of Korea’s 2012 ODA is to be committed to economic and social infrastructure building.
