Abstract

Since President Lee proposed “Low carbon Green growth” as new national vision for the next 60 years in Korea in 2008, green growth has become a key value that our society must pursue. Korean government has made various plans to invest an enormous amount of resources for low carbon-green growth.
The development of green technologies and green industries based on such technologies constitutes the essence of Green Growth paradigm. Regarding this new paradigm of development, Korean government has invested much resources in securing green technologies and relevant R&D activities.
The current status of Korea’s green technology is far behind those of advanced countries. The investment made by domestic companies in green technology development is also much surpassed by those by advanced countries.
However, there are still positive factors and opportunities as the global green technology market is being reshuffled and the green technology is recently receiving increasing attention as a core element of national as well as corporate competitiveness. (The rest omitted)
