Abstract

The current tension on Korean Peninsula has been continued. But, there is an opportunity to make cooperation between South and North Korea through North Korean open door policy in the future. For the opportunity, we need to prepare for building the cooperation strategy. But, now, it is not easy to do that because of lack of the information of North Korean industries.
This study tried to find the characteristics of North Korean industries through their development pathway and evaluate their level in order to help building the cooperation strategy.
Previously, the current conditions in North Korea were investigated. In the international isolation, North Korea has tried to rebuild the industry considerably. Especially, they have tried to build ‘strong and prosperous country’ as a breakthrough. Their efforts make active progresses in the Iron making industry, Machinery industry, Fertilizer industry, and Textile industry. (The rest omitted)
