Abstract

According to the development of new towns, the transportation problems have being expanded to the metropolitan region beyond a city. The transportation problems in a city are used to expand as surface, however, the transportation problems in the metropolitan region occur along the main connection axis. The efforts to solve these problems have been focused on a hardware approach policies, such as providing a transit center, metropolitan road/rail facilities. On the other hand, the software approach as policies of a public transportation and a transportation demand management is not enough until now. We have learned that the supply of transportation facilities is hard to be satisfied with the demand. Also, the trend of international transportation policy changes the supply of facilities into the efficient management. Therefore, the metropolitan transportation policy needs to operate totally through the verification of various demand-managements. (The rest omitted)
