The study reviews the previous studies and foreign cases regarding territorial competitiveness enhancement strategy. Especially, waterfront space, blight urban center and country resources are examined and the strategies for the territorial competitiveness are considered.
Chapter 2 conceptualizes the territorial competitiveness. The study defines the territorial competitiveness is to enhance the national competitiveness through the multiple spatial regeneration strategies that are focusing on revitalization of territorial spaces. Various arguments and literatures regarding national competitiveness of Porter and Krugman are strongly related to this study. Spatial marketing, politics, and n대-endogenous growth models are all introduced in this chapter as well.
In chapter 3, policy trends of territorial regeneration are reviewed. As a result, we conclude that the rural area needs integrated spatial strategy with metropolitan area, since it is strongly struggling with the decreasing population and aging. Realizing the rural resources, that are important assets to create regional income, industrialization of rural resources are suggested. (The rest omitted)
