National GIS should be designed on the assumption that geospatial data gathered by different public or governmental organizations be integrated systemically. This study reviews schema for NGIS, basic network technology, and the way in which NGIS is connected closely with National Information Super Highway. Database models and distributed approaches are reviewed for NGIS schema. and commercial GIS, currently applied by different organizations, are examined in terms of network functions.
