Abstract

How rich greenspace is in the city or how easy the citizens approach to greenspace is one of the principal measures when we compare the competitive power of cities in the world of today.
Greenspace contributes to recover the space system in the city and is available to provide spaces for social participation and residents’ solidarity. It is also significant as the pleasant place by itself.
Despite the importance of greenspace in cities, greenspace in our country is centered on mountains outside cities, so it’s difficult to approach them. Not considering the residets’ accessibility to necessary greenspace in cities, they are simply estimating greenspace in cities by an index per population. This study attempts to present the necessary location and quatity of greenspace by analyzing the service area of greenspace on the basis of the accessibility of urban greensapce and constructing total greenspace system model.
The demand for pleasant and plentiful greenspace within and without cities has increased rapidly, as social conditions like 90 percent of high urbanization rate and constant increase of the national income change. However, greenspace that is available to satisfy citizens’ demand is short of and isn’t various so far. But rather available greenspace has been constantly decreased by rashly extensive diffusion.
That’s why the Administration is establishing and reforming the law related to urban greenspace and presenting the necessity of introduction to greenspace management policy in the principal country plans as a device for greenspace management. However, methodology is almost wholly lacking, which is available to approach practically in part of citizens’ living environment and analyze in the concrete in part of utilization.
This study attempts to analyze the service area of greenspace on the subject of available greenspace of wide areas in part of citizens’ accessibility by an arterial road network and construct total greenspace system model on the basis of this analysis.

A theoretical study
Urban greenspace can be a space or facility that makes pleasant environment and contributes to build up citizens’ emotions and their rest. Though there have been constant suggestions about the necessity and importance of total greenspace system policy in many national plans and academic studies, the concept and method of total greenspace system aren’t clearly put in order so far.
Generally total greenspace system management implies the conversion of separate greenspace management into overall greenspace management and it is understood to construct the general greenspace management system for this. In other sords, the general greenspace management implies the growth of trees, an ecological function, an urban environmental function, and availability of greenspace rather than a simply quantitative index.
There have been many studies at home and abroad about this scheme of total greenspace system, but mostly the whole quantity of greenspace security is represented only as a blueprint by applying simply legal greenspace security standards, which are 6㎡ per person. Several studies evaluate the properness of greenspace in part of accessibility, but the study like this is almost wholly lacking, which presents the location and quantity of greenspace as planned by the application of the concept of the total amount. (The rest is omitted)
