Abstract

The employment problems of Korean young generation could be considered as the labor market mismatch problems due to mismatch between supply and demand in the labor market. Therefore, situations of companies which are the labor demand side as well as those of job seekers which are the labor supply side should be considered to resolve employment problems of Korean young generation. This study explored effects of human resource management practices on various employment performances such as the total employment level, employment proportion of young generation, proportion of regular employment, turnover of short and long term tenured employees by analyzing impacts of human resource management practices on dynamic changes of each employment performance. It tried to understand current situations and issues in the young generation labor market, identify efforts of firms and government to resolve or relieve problems in the young generation employment, and verify policy supports for them.
