Abstract

The Park Geun-hye Administration which began in 2013 proposed nurturing creative economy for a new economic growth model. This new policy goal raises hope for social development in Korea given the situation that despite various discussions that took place on the necessity for changes in the economic structure, de facto changes were hardly made. In particular, the Park Geun-hye Administration proposes various policies aimed at cultivating creative talent as a means to achieve the goals. These measures can be regarded as significant progress, considering the criticism that the current Korean education system has been unable to nurture sufficient creativeness and the hungry spirit needed for the Korean economy and society of the future. However, on the other side of this positive assessment, doubts remain as to whether the proposed policies will be able to fully nurture creative human resources for the creative economy and whether they can be utilized effectively. First of all, the proposed measures, at this moment, are mainly focused on nurturing creativity in “schools.” This perspective focuses solely on the “nurturing” of creative human resources.(The rest is omitted)
