Abstract

In today’s economic environment where low growth fuels the demand for risky capital and population aging leads to changes in the financial system, private funds are likely to serve as a core channel to supply private venture capital. The pending Private Fund Reform Bill is viewed as containing a vision for the market’s stability, dynamics, and developing independent financial groups. On top of this, the next moves should also include: activating secondary funds to address the mismatch, developing a private fund index for more transparent valuation, and enhancing governance related to valuation.
