Abstract

Increasing Korea’s STI Cooperation with Developing Countries. The international development community emphasizes the role of science, technology, and innovation (STI) for development and the most recent discussion on post-2015 agenda noted the importance of scientific and technological capacity and STI human resources. There are increasing requests to Korea to share its development experience. In response, Korea is conducting more technical cooperation policy consultancy, workshops, etc. - and the share of technical cooperation to net ODA increased from 10% in 2002 to 16% in 2013. Nonetheless, there are increasing argument that Korea should upgrade quality and applicability of its STI cooperation. This paper tries to draw implications through practices conducted by the International Innovation Cooperation Center of the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI-IICC). (The rest omitted)
