Abstract

It is a well known fact that technology innovation is a key element of economic growth. However, researchers usually dismiss the organizational part of technology innovation and emphasize only the technical part of technology innovation. Technology innovation includes not only technical innovation but also organizational innovation as well. The just-in-time and quality control (JIT/QC) process is one of the most influential organizational innovations which has been widely used in various industries and many countries. Therefore, it is worthwhile to examine economic growth in terms of this organizational innovation. Sanidas (2004, 2005, 2006) already studied the relationship between organizational innovation and economic growth using both Japan and USA cases. However, Korea has not been studied yet and is worthy to study for the following two reasons. First, Korea is still a developing country unlike USA and Japan. (The rest omitted)
