Abstract

This purpose of this study is to analyzes the patterns and changing factors of economic gap and income inequality in Korea baby boomers, focusing on the effect of heterogeneity among baby boomers. In order to do this, distinguished the types of class in to six groups that “professional manager class”, “sales/service class”, “petty self-employment class” “farmer class”, “skilled working class”, “unskilled working class”, estimate earned income gap, pattern of earned income inequality depending on the class. Data come from Korean Labor and Income Panel Study(KLIPS) 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th wave. Income inequality is measured by the Gini coefficient and generalized entropy indices and decomposed inequality trend. The results are as follows.
