This study analyzes structural changes in employment and proportion of female workforce by firm size since the year 1996, and diagnoses female workforce competencies of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), which is followed by suggesting women resources policies and service for SMEs. Korean economy has waged a rapid change in the industrial structure during the period of industrialization and post-industrialization. The financial crisis of 1997 accelerated the decrease in the number and proportion of large firms of employing 300 employees and more. Thus more workers are found in SMEs which are regarded as the main source of job creation. (The rest id omitted)
